Club kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs in Sullivan County were excited participants in last Saturday’s “Relay for Life” at Sullivan County Community College.
Club kids from Liberty, Fallsburg and both clubs in Monticello have raised more than $1500 to help combat cancer over the past two years.
This year, the Club members designed “Cancer Stinks” bracelets and sold them along with donation cards and chocolate! At the Relay event, they also raised funds selling popcorn, pickles on a stick and iced coffees that were donated by McDonald’s of Liberty.
“The money raised by our club members was truly extraordinary and inspiring,” said Barbi Neuman-Marti, Unit Director of the Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls Club. “The club kids were so moved to tears by the testimonies of survivors and caregivers who lost loved ones, they excitedly cheered them on as each one took their lap for the Relay. I am very impressed by their dedication and enthusiasm!”
