Think SPRING (and SUMMER!)

We have been baaaaad bloggers!

With all of the excitement surrounding the Sullivan County Celebrity Dinner, we have been delinquent in our blogging!

As we host our Signature events for the public, we’ve also been hard at work preparing for Springtime and, of course, Summer Day Camp!

For Spring Break, we will again host our Spring Break Program for Orange County. Due to unforeseen snow days, Pine Bush will be in school on Monday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 26, so we’ll have SBP Wednesday, March 26 – Friday, March 28 from 7am – 6pm for just $60. Since we partner with the Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church on this program, we will have full use of their gymnasium and grounds, which offers us tons of room for FUN activities! If you’re interested in having your child attend SBP, you must register the child by no later than Friday, March 22 by calling our office at 845-342-8833!

And then, of course, work is already in progress for our TWO Summer Day Camps. We’re adding new staff trainings this year, and every staffer will also undergo a national background check to further ensure the safety of our campers.

For nearly twenty years, our Clubs have operated the Town of Wallkill Summer Day Camp at Thompson Park in Circleville. We offer a range of activities from sports to arts & crafts, dance, cheer, drama, boating, fishing, hiking and both free & instructional swim in our lake!

We have tons of new theme days and new field trips planned, and snacks and lunch will again be available for purchase at the Snack Bar, operated by the Town of Wallkill Soccer Club.

This summer Camp will operate on weekdays from Monday, June 24, 2013 through Friday, August 16, 2013, except for the July 4, 2013 national holiday. Camp operates from 9-3pm, with Boys & Girls Clubs programming available on an a la carte basis from 6-9am and 3-6pm.

Online registration and payment will go “LIVE” on Monday, April 1, 2013.

For our second summer, our Clubs will be operating the Town of Mamakating Summer Day Camp at Mamakating Park in Bloomingburg. This summer we are moving to an eight-week model to better serve families with working parents or guardians, and for the very first time, parents will be able to utilize online payment and registration, as well as payment plans to lessen the up-front burden of summer camp.

This summer also marks the launch of our Specialized Pee Wee program and curriculum for Campers Age 4-6/7 and we’re also adding four new program offerings to the Main Camp: drama, Summer Literacy program, cooking classes and an edible garden.

We are delighted to announce that this year’s Summer Camp will also feature free breakfast, lunch and snacks through the Federal Nutrition Program, and in conjunction with our great partners at the Monticello Central School District! Campers who do not want to partake in these meals & snacks are, of course, free to bring their own and store them in our coolers!
