The Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Clubs is hiring throughout Orange & Sullivan Counties!
We have two Program Leader positions open:
Livingston Manor location of the Town of Rockland Unit
Roscoe location of the Town of Rockland Unit
We have 22 Program Aide positions open:
Liberty Elementary Club
Liberty Middle School Club
Livingston Manor Club
Afterschool Program runs from 3:00-6:00pm when school is in session, Monday through Friday. Friday hours may be longer. Additional hours are available for Open Houses, community events, etc.
Program Leaders manage the overall daily operations for an afterschool program, with the primary responsibility for planning and implementing National BGCA & local programs for children in Grades K-6. Must also be responsible for supervision of staff, facilities management, and be able to build relationships with parents, schools and additional members of the organization.
Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelors Degree in Education, Youth Development or related field, or 3-5 years equivalent experience, preferably in a supervisory role at a youth development program.
Key Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Enthusiastic with good organizational skills
Ability to deal with a diverse population of youth
Ability to establish positive relationships with youth
Experience with program development, planning, delivery and implementation
Management and supervisory experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
CPR and First-Aid certified preferred.
Understanding of the Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club, Inc., its mission and its goals.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations at location, and prepare all attendance, participation, community service and any other reporting required by the Unit Director or Executive Director. Manage/Delegate appropriate responsibilities to program staff.
Maintain discipline; and enforce Club rules to all members and staff.
Act as primary contact between the location and the Building Principal. Develop a positive relationship with District personnel and maintain facilities in accordance with Building Usage Agreement.
Organize, direct and implement lesson plans, calendars and curriculum for a diverse Boys & Girls Clubs program, including any grant requirements that may apply.
Key Job Responsibilities (Cont.):
Assume responsibility for the implementation and execution of the yearly performance benchmarks associated with the location/age group.
Facilitate regular Program Staff meetings. Assist with staff development and evaluations as needed.
Participate in regular Program Leader meetings and the development or implementation of special events, initiatives, etc as needed. Attend staff development trainings as necessary (15 hours per annum).
Develop and maintain relationships with parents and families of club members.
Other duties as assigned.
Participate in implementation of assigned activities in such specific program areas as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education; Supervise and assist members participating in programs/activities to ensure their safety and enjoyment; Work to maximize impact of programs/activities to help build members’ developmental assets.
Ideal candidates will possess a High School Diploma and have experience working with youth or working in a youth development program.

This position is a part-time hourly position, with a minimum 20 hours in program weekly, and additional weekend hours as available. This position may also telecommute for the purposes of curriculum development/preparation. Pay is commensurate with experience.
