Sophie Samul

Sophie comes to The Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club with a decade of experience leading fundraising and community outreach for local nonprofit organizations. One of her greatest joys is bringing people together across lines of difference! If you ask Sophie, there is nothing more exciting than figuring out what we have in common to help bring diverse communities together rather than divide them.

Sophie has a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University. She is excited to bring her expertise in diversifying fundraising techniques, relationship building, and story-telling to help make a difference in the lives of local kids.

As a lifelong lover of animals and the people who love them, Sophie helps make the world a more humane place for human and non-human animals. Sophie grew up in the city of Philadelphia but spent her summers in Westport, NY working on hobby farms. She has spent years working and volunteering with nonprofit animal welfare organizations to raise money, engage community members, and maximize lifesaving efforts.

Sophie lives in the Hamlet of Wallkill with her partner and their misfit crew of adopted dogs and cats. She loves music, gardening, over-the-top statement earrings, goats, and vegan doughnuts.
